CGI Construction in Riverside, CA | Alder Contractors

We provide independent CGI cabinet and countertop service across Riverside, from installation and refacing to countertop templating and full kitchen remodels with a Riverside General Contractor. The thing that separates our CGI work here is simple: Riverside’s housing stock splits into two worlds, pre-1950 pier-and-beam bungalows and 1980s-2000s slab tract homes, and CGI boxes behave differently in each. We plan for that before the first cabinet comes off the truck. Call (833) 467-7020 for a free estimate.

We stock genuine CGI doors, drawer fronts, and hardware for matching existing runs, and we’re fluent in the install realities of both the Wood Streets and the 92508 subdivisions. Nelson Ibarra and our crew have spent the better part of three decades working Inland Empire homes, and we tell every Riverside homeowner the same thing: we’re an independent contractor, not authorized by CGI. That independence means we choose parts based on what holds up in your kitchen, not what a manufacturer’s program tells us to sell. For a closer look at our full CGI sales & service capability, that link covers the broader scope.

Why Riverside Residents Choose Us for CGI Service

CGI builds a solid ready-to-assemble cabinet line – all-plywood boxes, Euro-style frameless full-overlay options, and Shaker or raised-panel doors across their quartz and granite countertop programs. The catch is that Riverside’s homes don’t always give those cabinets a square, dry, plumb surface to land on. That’s where most installs go sideways.

We’ve installed and finished CGI cabinetry in enough Riverside kitchens, including CGI repair in Rubidoux, to know which failure points show up where. Frameless boxes rack out of square against the out-of-plumb walls common in Wood Streets bungalows. Lower boxes swell on post-tension slabs where slab moisture wicks up through the base. South- and west-facing runs under Riverside’s 100°F+ summer sun check and yellow faster than the manufacturer’s UV guidance suggests. Nelson Ibarra grew up in the Willow Avenue corridor of Rialto and learned framing and finish work on job sites before he ever opened a trade textbook, so when we say a wall is out of square, we mean we’ve already measured it and know what the scribe work will cost you.

We use OEM CGI doors, drawer fronts, and hardware when matching an existing run or preserving a factory finish. Where aftermarket hinges and slides outlast the OEM hardware in daily use, we say so and we quote accordingly. Do it right the first time – the callback always costs more than the extra hour up front.

Common CGI Construction Problems We Solve in Riverside

  • Frameless boxes racked out of square on bungalow walls. Wood Streets and other pre-1950 Riverside homes have plaster walls that drifted decades ago. When a frameless CGI box is mounted to an out-of-plumb wall without scribing, doors rub, drawers misalign, and the whole run looks off. We shim, scribe, and fit fillers so the reveal lines stay even.
  • Toe-kick and lower-box swelling from slab moisture. Post-tension slab foundations in 92508 and east-side tract homes can transmit ground moisture upward, especially where a vapor barrier was never installed or has failed. CGI’s lower boxes and toe-kick bases absorb that moisture and swell. We set cabinets on moisture-blocked bases and check slab readings before install.
  • Finish checking and yellowing on west-facing runs. Riverside’s inland heat and long UV exposure hit South and West kitchen walls hard. CGI factory finishes, like any wood or painted finish, will check and yellow faster under direct sun and heat fluctuation. We recommend door style and finish pairings that hold up better on those walls, and we quote a UV-protective topcoat where it makes sense.
  • Off-the-shelf boxes fighting out-of-square pre-1950 openings. A 1920s Craftsman kitchen rarely gives you a square corner. Stock CGI cabinets don’t account for that. We cut custom filler and scribe work on-site so a framed cabinet run ends flush against a wall that hasn’t been straight since the citrus boom.
  • Hidden knob-and-tube and galvanized supply lines behind cabinet runs. In downtown and Wood Streets homes, removing old cabinets frequently reveals knob-and-tube wiring and galvanized steel supply lines. A straight cabinet swap turns into an electrical and plumbing correction before the new boxes can go in. We plan for that in the estimate so you’re not hit mid-job.

CGI Service in Riverside: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Here’s the thing nobody tells you about Riverside’s housing stock until you’ve pulled a cabinet off the wall. In the Wood Streets and other pre-1950 neighborhoods, those kitchens sit on raised pier-and-beam foundations with original clay sewer laterals below and, very often, knob-and-tube wiring and galvanized supply lines behind the cabinets. A 1990s east-side tract kitchen on a post-tension slab in 92508 is a totally different animal from Glen Avon CGI service homes: square walls, dry slab (if the vapor barrier held), and modern rough-in. The same CGI box behaves differently in each house. We’ve built our Riverside estimates around that split because we’ve seen both sides of it too many times to pretend they’re the same job. On a 1920s bungalow in the Wood Streets, we pulled a tired painted-over cabinet run and found knob-and-tube wiring and galvanized supply lines behind it. We corrected both before setting new CGI Shaker cabinets on shimmed, moisture-blocked bases. The frameless boxes were scribed to out-of-plumb plaster walls, and the quartz top dropped in clean with no gaps. That same project in a 92508 tract kitchen would have been a straight swap. Knowing which house you have tells you what the job should cost.

CGI Models & Products We Service in Riverside

We work across the CGI Ready-to-Assemble all-plywood cabinet lines, the Euro-style frameless full-overlay cabinets, Shaker and raised-panel door styles, and CGI quartz and granite countertop programs. Our parts approach is practical: genuine CGI doors, drawer fronts, and hardware when you’re matching an existing run or preserving a factory finish; quality aftermarket hinges and slides where they outlast the OEM hardware in daily kitchen use. If a box has swelled or delaminated from slab moisture, we replace that unit rather than patch it – repairs on swollen particleboard don’t hold. We keep the fast-moving hardware and door styles stocked locally so Riverside turnaround time doesn’t get dragged out waiting on a manufacturer shipment.

CGI Service Pricing in Riverside

Riverside pricing for CGI work depends on which house you have and what’s hiding behind the cabinets. The ranges below reflect what we quote across the city’s split housing stock. A pre-1950 bungalow will land near the upper end once scribe work and rough-in corrections are factored in. A newer tract home typically lands in the middle or lower range.

Cabinet Installation $4,000 – $13,000
Countertop Installation $2,000 – $6,500
